About 7.15pm on Saturday evening, a Mitsubishi Lancer and Holden sedan were travelling in opposite directions along Mt Broughton Road at Werai, when they collided head on.
The driver of the lancer, and sole occupant, a 28-year-old woman was trapped in her car until emergency services arrived.
She was later freed from the vehicle and treated by NSW Ambulance Paramedics for numerous leg fractures, before being airlifted to Liverpool District Hospital. Her injuries are not considered life threatening.
The second driver, a 42-year-old man, was treated by NSW Ambulance Paramedics for a suspected fractured foot and other minor injuries.
There were also three passengers travelling in the second vehicle, all of whom sustained minor injuries.
The group was taken via ambulance to Liverpool District Hospital for further treatment.
Officers attached to Goulburn Local Area Command launched an investigation into the incident and spoke to several witnesses.
The roadway was also closed for a number of hours while emergency services carried out their inquiries at the scene.
Investigations into the matter are continuing.
