Burrawang Hotel has been awarded the honour of Best Pub and Best Country Pub in NSW in the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Pub Guide 2012.
It was also awarded an impressive top score of three schooners for its food.
Hotel owners Julie and Ed Woolfrey are thrilled with the achievement and attribute a "great deal of the success to our friendly and helpful staff".
In fact, the guide highlighted the warm and friendly atmosphere, helpful staff and enormous beer garden as some of the key attractions of the pub.
The anonymous reviewer for the guide also sung the praises of the slow cooked pork roast topped with crackling and the grilled salmon dish, which resulted in the pub's food achieving a mark of 18 out of 20 and the top award of three schooners.
Mr and Mrs Woolfrey, who attended the awards at the Australian Hotel Association headquarters in Sydney on Monday night said they were overwhelmed and stunned by the recognition for their pub.
"Last year we won the award for best beer garden in the state and two schooners for our food, which we though was a great achievement," Mr Woolfrey said.
"This year we were thrilled when we were announced as the best country pub, but we were speechless after learning we had won the overall award for best pub in the state.
"We took out this award in tough competition from the likes of the Four in Hand Pub in Paddington."
The Four in Hand has won a Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide coveted Chef's Hat on two occasions.
Mr Woolfrey said that he had been inundated with congratulations for his pub's success with many saying it was a great achievement for the Burrawang village.
He said his aim was to continue the award winning qualities of the Burrawang Pub which made it a great place to visit for all the family.
Other Highlands pub's to be recognised for their food in the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Pub Guide 2012 are Bundanoon Hotel with three schooners, Sutton Forest with two schooners and the Imperial Hotel which was awarded one schooner.
