Bowral woman Juliette Anderson is only 25, but that has not stopped her from taking on the big companies with decades of experience under their belt.

Miss Anderson is the driving force behind a product that is cleaning up in a simple, cost effective and compact way with a focus on stain removal.

Her product, The Amazing Stain Remover, which is produced in the Southern Highlands, has a name that says it all.

Sure there are other mainstream companies that have created easy to carry, effective stain removal products, but Miss Anderson has gone one step further.

Miss Anderson offers a product that is not only effective, easily slips into a handbag and smells great, she has also made it more cost effective.

And she struggles to understand why producers of similar stain removers “haven’t done the same”.

Miss Anderson said she had enlisted the support of a chemist to create a product that enabled people to remove stains from clothing with a simple spray.

Meanwhile Miss Anderson, who had a background in public relations and marketing, focussed her attention on packaging and marketing of her newly developed product.

One detail, which set her aside from the competition paid special attention to affordability and environmental appeal.

Miss Anderson’s said unlike the competition, her product was refillable.

She said a replacement bottle of most stain remover products costs about $7, but people could refill The Amazing Stain Remover bottles for 70 cents.

“This makes it a cost effective product that is also kind to the environment,” she said.

“I can’t understand why the industry leaders haven’t produced a similar, refillable product.”

Miss Anderson’s foray into the business world began to take shape almost from the time she left school.

She said she was offered an opportunity in 2004 to develop and market a stain remover that she was told “could remove anything”.

Miss Anderson didn’t immediately take on the concept, but that all changed when her mother died of cancer in 2006.

“I was 20-years-old and the youngest of four kids,” she said.

“All my siblings were busy in their lives, and I missed mum so much that I decided to direct my energies into something positive.

“The concept of the stain remover, which I had heard about two years early, stuck in my mind so I decided to look further into the idea.

“Everywhere I went I kept seeing people with stains, it was like a constant hint.

“I did some research and discovered there was nothing around at the time that was effective in removing stains, affordable and refillable, fashionable and that could easily fit in a hand bag.”

By 2007 Miss Anderson had filled the void in the market with The Amazing Stain Remover.

“I’ve been involved in the marketing of other products including a pet care range and a private label range of products in Melbourne,” she said.

“I’m now fully focussed on marketing The Amazing Stain Remover and targeting the overseas market starting with Japan.

“I also have several other product ideas which I hope to pursue further in the future.”
