Southern Highlands based actor and director Dave Letch has taken his last bow
The Southern Highlands has lost one of its most colourful and kind characters. Actor, director, mentor and artist Dave Letch, 68, passed away in early August at his Hill Top home. The Southern Highlands performing arts community will be a sadder space for the loss.

Woman pleads guilty to high-range drink driving charge
A woman who blew more than five times the legal limit has entered a plea in Moss Vale Local Court. Joanna Clare Broad, 39, did not physically appear in the courthouse but sent a letter to Magistrate Mark Douglass with instructions to enter a guilty plea to one charge of high-range drink driving.
Man in court on alleged drug, firearm offences at Hill Top
A man charged with drug and firearm offences has appeared before Moss Vale Local Court. Antonio Calabro, 44, appeared for the first time on Tuesday (August 9) facing one charge of cultivating cannabis not less than the commercial quantity, three charges of possessing an unregistered firearm (three separate .177 calibre rifles), one charge of possessing ammunition without holding a license and one charge of not keeping firearm safely. No plea has been entered.

Highlands bumpy road to be rehabilitated
One of the bumpiest roads in the Southern Highlands is set to be "rehabilitated". Wingecarribee Shire Council is calling on contractors to submit a tender to rehabilitate Old South Road. The council's Director Service and Project Delivery Karen Targa said the upgrade of Old South Road had been years in the planning.
ATO reveals the Southern Highlands' richest postcodes from 2019 to 2020
The richest postcode in the Highlands has been revealed through recent data from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). The government revenue collection agency released statistics on median and average taxable incomes from 2019 to 2020, by postcodes this month. The postcode 2571, which covers Balmoral, had the highest median taxable income of $55,214.
