Kids Connect
- Every Wednesday, Bowral Uniting Church, 3.30-5pm
Primary school aged children are welcome to come along to make some friends and enjoy some food and faith. Dinner is provided and kids can bring a friend for a two dollar donation. You can contact Tammy on 0400851364 to learn more. It is a BMUC families ministry initiative.
Mid-week lunchtime recital with Clare Pryor
- August 17, St Jude's Church, 1.15pm
Clare Pryor will entertain guests with the organ at this concert. It is part of the St. Jude's Music Associations initiative to showcase emerging artists. People can enter with a donation.
Ordinary Meeting of Council
- August 17, online, 3.30-5pm
The ordinary meeting covers different issues in the community. The meeting agenda and minutes will be published on council's website closer to the date and it will be livestreamed via wsc.nsw.gov.au.
JP Service
Two certified Justice of the Peace volunteers are present to witness documents weekly at the following locations:
- Springett's Arcade, Bowral: every Wednesday from 10am to 1pm.
- Moss Vale IGA: every Thursday from 10am to 1pm.
- Mittagong Market Place: every Saturday from 10am to 1pm.
Scottish dancing
- Every Thursday, Bowral Presbyterian Hall, 10.30-11.30am
Southern Highlands Scottish country dancing takes place weekly. New dancers are welcome. Residents can call Margaret on 0466166 866 for more information.
Lecture: The cycle of rainfall in Eastern NSW
- August 18, Carrington Room in Mittagong RSL, 6.30pm
Former geophysics professor Michael Asten and Dr Ken McCracken will present 200 years of data to discuss flooding and extreme weather events. Solar-magnetic studies will also be used to talk about La Nina. This lecture is held by the Royal Society of NSW Southern Highlands Branch, which is a group of individuals who are passionate about starting conversations about science, arts, philosophy and literature through different lectures and publications with experts. Railway Street Farmers Market

The Luminescence Chamber Singers will entertain guests in the historic church this weekend. People can enter with a donation.
Sing-along
- August 22, Mittagong Uniting Church from 1.30pm
Mittagong Uniting Church will hold its next sing-along on August 22 from 1.30pm. Entertainment and afternoon tea will be on offer for a gold coin donation at the church in Alice Street, Mittagong. Large print books will be available and all are welcome. Details: Shonagh on 4871 1369.
Calling for mementos for Robertson Public School's 150th anniversary
Do you have treasured photos or memorabilia from Robertson Public School? They can be featured in a unique display that will celebrate 150 years of history. Mementos such as photos, newsletters and artworks will be showcased in the school's original building for the festivities in September. If you have something you want to share, or a USB with photos, they can be dropped off at the school office before September 9 with your contact details. Digital copies can also be sent to 150years@robertsonpublicschool.org.au
Callout for information: Avoca Public School 150th anniversary
Avoca Public School will be celebrating its 150th birthday in October. Staff are looking for community members who may have information on the school's history they would like to share. Any stories from past students, teachers and principals or photos would be greatly received.
