Picton travelled to Bowral for a final pre-season hit out and won on all three rinks and scored 71 shots against 44 shots.

Arnold Lenczuk, Graham Hunt, Glen Giese, Bob Crowley def. by Picton 33-13. Bowral could never get going in this match, after 11 ends Picton had a 19-7 lead and finished the match with a twenty shot victory.
Ted McPhee, Richard Denman, Terry Norwood, Robin Staples def. by Picton 21-15. After 11 ends Picton had a 15-7 lead.
In what was a more even second half Bowral started pegging Picton back but at the visitors held on for a six-shot win.
Peter Cornwell, Mick Flyn, Tony Oakes, Gordon Lewis def. by Picton 17-16.This was a match that Bowral should not have lost although they did trail 10-5 after 10 ends.
Bowral came back the stronger in the second half to lead 16-14 with one end to play. On the last end however, Picton scored three shots to win by one. The lesson from this match is for Bowral to learn to close a match out.
Zone Five divisional pennants commence on Saturday (August 13). Bowral will play in Division One and Four.
The Bowral First Division side will play Austral at Bowral at 1.00pm. This should be a entertaining match up. Can Bowral take advantage of playing at home? We will have to wait and see.
The Bowral Division Four side will open their campaign by travelling to Picton. After coming of a big defeat in the trial match, it will be a big turnaround if Bowral come home with the points.
Remember Bowral - enthusiasm is required for pennant play. So good luck to all those who have been selected.
