When Dr Jeff Pinkstone first came to the Highlands, he thought it was only for a few months - but it "turned into 35 years". The beloved doctor hung up his stethoscope on August 4 at the Walker Street General Practice in Bowral, after co-founding it in 1993.
Robertson resident David Tranter remembered for his 'tireless' passion for the environment
Passionate environmentalist, the late David James Tranter will be remembered for his tireless contribution to the Robertson Environment Protection society and the Wingecarribee Reconciliation Group. Born on October 10, 1929, in Milla Milla in the Atherton Tablelands in North Queensland, David went on to become a marine scientist, specialising in Oceanography.

Concerns have been raised in the Highlands about the proposal to rename the Bowral Hall. The hall, which is undergoing a $6 million refurbishment, could see "hall" dropped from the name, due to a request the Whingecarribee Shire Council has received.

CoreLogic reveals dwelling prices drop for the first time in two years in the Southern Highlands
House prices in the Highlands have declined for the first time in two years, new research from CoreLogic has found. The property data, information and analyst service's Hedonic Home Value Index, released on August 1, found that house prices have dropped by 2.7 per cent in one month until July 31.

Raid on Southern Highlands property uncovers drugs, firearms, $115k cash
Police have charged three men with drug and firearms charges after a raid on a Southern Highlands property uncovered cannabis, methamphetamine, firearms and ammunition, and more than $115,000 cash. Raptor Squad officers raided the Hill Top property about 6.30am on Tuesday as part of an investigation into a criminal syndicate allegedly involved in the supply of illicit drugs and firearms offences.
