Peter Jensen has been selected to play for the Over 60s Australian Cricket Team in the upcoming tournament on Queensland's Sunshine Coast in September.
The right-handed batsman is one of just four NSW players selected in a national squad of 17. Peter's leadership ability has also been acknowledged with his being appointment as vice-captain.
Despite a three-year hiatus in international cricket due to COVID, this is now the third time Peter has made the national side, the first being an away series in June 2019 to play against England and the second against the same country in Australia later that year.
"I feel very honoured to be chosen to represent my country and am very excited to be playing against 11 other sides from all around the world. It's going to be an amazing experience," Peter said.
Other teams participating include India, South Africa, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Wales, New Zealand, Canada, West Indies, Zimbabwe and the USA.
With England unable to make it a Rest of the World side is also participating to which Robertson-based player Ian Bradburn has been made reserve by way of his English heritage.
All local team-mates of both players were delighted to hear of the success of these two talented individuals and wish them well for the Tournament.
