Bowral Uniting Church Grocery Pantry
The Bowral Uniting Church pantry is open every Tuesday and Wednesday from 10am to 1pm. The pantry is located around the side of the church's office. Groceries are free and have been donated by local businesses. A free takeaway lunch is also available every Wednesday.
FRESH Homeschool catch-up
- June 28, St John's Hall on the corner of Waite and Browley streets in Moss Vale, 12-3.30pm
Family Run Education Southern Highlands Homeschool (FRESH) is a homeschooling group that meet weekly throughout the school term. The group holds a variety of activities and crafts for children of all ages. People who are interested can see the Fresh Homeschool Instagram page or contact fresh.homeschool@gmail.com.
Extraordinary Meeting of Council
- June 29, online, 3.30-5pm
The Wingecarribee Shire Council will address the 2022/23 budget in this meeting. The minutes and agenda will be uploaded onto the council website closer to the date. The meeting will also be livestreamed on the council website.
Scottish dancing
- Every Thursday, Bowral Presbyterian Hall, 10.30-11.30am
Southern Highlands Scottish country dancing takes place weekly. New dancers are welcome. Residents can call Margaret on 0466166 866 for more information.
Railway Street Farmers Market
- Every Thursday, Corners of Railway Street and Spring Street, Moss Vale, 3-5.30pm
Grab some seasonal produce harvested by local growers and meet the people behind the produce. Those interested can call Elissa Thomson on 0450 276 320 for more information.
JP Service
Two certified Justice of the Peace volunteers are present to witness documents weekly at the following locations:
- Springett's Arcade, Bowral: every Wednesday from 10am to 1pm.
- Moss Vale IGA: every Thursday from 10am to 1pm.
- Mittagong Market Place: every Saturday from 10am to 1pm.
Crop Swap Robertson
- Every Saturday, Robertson CTC, 9-10.30 am
Residents can grab fresh and seasonal fruits, vegetables and eggs. A table is set up for people to put their produce on, and swap with others. Magazines, plants and flowers are also welcome.
NAIDOC flag raising ceremony and exhibition opening
- July 4, Civic Centre, 68 Elizabeth Street, Moss Vale, 10am-12pm
Celebrate NAIDOC Week with the community. Gundungurra elders will be present for a flag raising ceremony and then there will be an exhibition opening and performance by Gadhungal Murring. NAIDOC week takes place from July 3 to 10 across Australia and the theme is Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up!
Callout for information: Avoca Public School 150th anniversary
Avoca Public School will be celebrating its 150th birthday in October. Staff are looking for community members who may have information on the school's history they would like to share. Any stories from past students, teachers and principals or photos would be greatly received.
