The upgrade expand health and fitness opportunities to the Southern Highlands community and is funded by a succesful NSW Government grant, as well as financial contributions from both Wingecarribee Shire Council and BlueFit.
BlueFit NSW State Manager, Andrew Hungerford said while the expansions were extensive, he didn't anticipate any impact on the existing operations.
"Members will continue to have full access to the Centre, our Learn to Swim Classes and current fitness centre will operate as normal," he said.
" We envisage the renovations to expand the facility will be completed late 2022".
The new construction will include a 120m2 multipurpose room, suitable for group fitness classes and community use is a key element to the upgrade.
In addition, conversion of the existing health club to 24/7 operations and installation of a Changing Places accessible change room and toilet on pool deck are among the other improvements locals will be soon be able to enjoy.
Visitors with limited mobility and special needs will now have full access to a Changing Places accessible change room and toilet featuring equipment such as a height adjustable adult sized changing bench and a tracking hoist system to assist carers to move people around the different amenities in the room.
