The Highlands copped more than 1000 millimetres of rain during the La Nina event in 2021 and 2022.
The weather event was announced by the Bureau of Metereology (BOM) in late November, 2021 and was declared to be over on June 21.

A total of 1083.8 millimetres was recorded from November 23, 2021, to June 21, 2022 at the BOM's Moss Vale weather station.
March was the wettest month during this period, with about 419 millimetres of rain recorded, with a maximum of almost 90 millimetres documented on March 8.
April followed with about 211 millimetres throughout the month, then January, February, December and May.
Although it is over, the BOM predicted it will return later this year.
