The Southern Highlands could soon be home to a carbon-capture plant after a $30 million dollar grant from the Federal Government was unveiled May 16. In conjunction with technology company Calix, Boral will explore a feasibility of developing the facility in the Highlands.
Labor government to commit funds to Southern Highlands Botanic Gardens
The Southern Highlands Botanic Garden will receive a $500,000 funding boost for an educational centre if an Albanese Labor Government is elected. The development would also provide space for community uses and small events. Whitlam MP Stephen Jones, said the Southern Highlands Botanic Gardens was a fantastic local volunteer-run institution, with a vision to education and inform people about the rich botanic heritage of the area.
Harbison to join Tulip Time Bulb Planting
Preparations for this year's Tulip Time celebrations are set to gather pace with the official bulb planting at Bowral's Corbett Gardens on May 20. More than 75,000 bulbs will be planted and Harbison will also join the planting and springtime celebrations as the official 2022 Tulip Time Charity Partner.
