Hayden Kerr has earned a full 2022-23 contract with NSW Blues alongside Illawarra product Blake Nikitaris and will again take to the field in all three formats, including for Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League (BBL).
The 25-year old enjoyed a breakthrough season in 2021-22, winning the Michael Bevan One Day Player of the Tournament Medal as well as Sixers Player of the Tournament.
During the BBL campaign, the all-rounder scored 152 runs with a high score of 98 against Adelaide Strikers. Then there were his bowling figures, taking 25 wickets, the second most in the BBL competition.
Cricket NSW Head of Male Cricket, Michael Klinger said Kerr's story was an inspirational story for aspiring cricketers.
"Hayden Kerr was one of the stars of the Australian domestic summer and he has thoroughly deserved his opportunity for a Blues contract," Klinger said.
"He is 25 and wasn't even on a rookie deal last year so it goes to show if you work hard and produce the right performances when given a chance, anything is possible.
"Our focus on development and growth will further allow these players....who earned an upgraded contract, to continue their progression to have a long term sustainable professional cricketer career."
