A red-crested Gang-gang Cockatoo is taking shape on an outer wall, becoming an eye-catching element on the street and Argyle Lane.
Sydney-based artist Thomas Jackson, who has a passion for creating large-scale murals of wildlife, began the project on April 4.
"I really wanted to highlight a local species 'at risk' for this artwork," he said.
"For this reason, I couldn't go past the Gang-gang Cockatoo.
"Conservation and species preservation are something that I'm very passionate about and I hope that through the medium of public art, I can highlight these special natives and leave them in their environment for years to come."

The bird was added to the federal threatened species list this year.
The mural is 12 metres by four metres.
A Dirty Janes spokesperson said the aim of the project was to brighten the lane and raise awareness for the bird.
"Dirty Janes have long admired the work of Thomas Jackson and his large scale, realistic and sensitive renderings of native flora and fauna," a statement from the business said.
"Our local environment, sustainability and community are dear to our hearts.
"We feel Thomas' new mural speaks to all three of these areas."
Mr Jackson has decorated walls across regional NSW, Sydney, Queensland and Manchester with animal murals.
He has also held exhibitions across Australia, England, the United States and Hong Kong.
