The initiative supported by Council, OzHarvest and Red Cross provides Aboriginal people and their families with access to quality excess food as well as social and engagement opportunities.
During the pandemic, the service was adapted to better meet community needs.
Close to 600 food boxes were delivered to registered families across the Shire.
The program expanded even further to support a pop-up vaccination clinic at the Aboriginal Community Cultural Centre.
Now that COVID restrictions have eased and more people are fully vaccinated, organisers are delighted to welcome families back to the Centre for weekly pick-ups.
"It's a great opportunity for people to connect and yarn with local service providers," said Council's Aboriginal Community Development Officer, Melissa Wiya.
The Dhungung Share Food Program will be held every Thursday at the Wingecarribee Aboriginal Community Cultural Centre at 1a Rainbow Road in Mittagong.
