All competitors to be at the club by 9am as the club honours a beloved member of the bowls community. The members of Chris Benton's family will be present for the day.
The day consists of a maximum of 14 x four teams with all monies raised go to the Brain Cancer Research Council, including green fees.
The day begins with a centre-green placement of the jack, and all participating players, plus the Benton family members, will compete with one bowl each to be closest to the jack.
The winning competitor will receive at day's end, a bottle of whisky.
The bowling day will consist of two lots of 10-end plays. During the break between each 10-ends, lunch will be served at no cost to players.
The winning team will have their names inscribed on the Chris Benton Memorial trophy. A raffle will be held at days end to raise further donations to the Brain Cancer Research Council.
This event is a must for all bowlers, as Chris Benton was a hallmark of all things that mankind aspires to.
