A former teacher has been charged over the historical alleged sexual abuse of two young students in the Southern Highlands more than 35 years ago.

In September 2019, officers attached to The Hume Police District commenced an investigation into allegations of sexual abuse at a school at Burradoo in the late 1980s.
Following extensive investigations, officers arrested a 74-year-old man at Campsie Police Station about 10am January 18.

He was charged with 13 offences, including five counts of sexual assault (Cat 4) - assault and commit act of indecency, six counts of sexual assault (Cat 4) incite indecent act person under 16 years, and two counts of homosexual intercourse with male (between 10 and 18 years).
Police will allege in court that the man sexually abused two male students - then aged 13 and 14 - on numerous occasions between 1985 and 1987.
The Lakemba man was refused bail to appear at Bankstown Local Court today (Wednesday, January 19).
