The show will take place at the Bong Bong Picnic Race Course on January 8 and 9, and kicks off from 8.30am each day.
The pandemic has meant that the event has been unable to go ahead for two years.
Bowral Show Society secretary Edwina Grant said about 20 volunteers have worked together to put on the show.
"We're happy to run a show again," she said.
"The Bowral horse program is extensive, people are excited about that."
The secretary said the horse events attracted horses and handlers from areas such as Young, Sydney, the Illawarra, Newcastle and Canberra.
President Peter Howard said the event was an opportunity for people to enjoy a day out.
"I want them to get a sense of relief and that life can be normal...get out there and absolutely forget about the world for a small window of time," he said.
"To get it back on the ground, we've cut back to the bare bones as far as the show is concerned."
Attendees have the opportunity to watch different competitions over the weekend which include showjumping and classes with a variety of horses.
The current situation with COVID however meant that the committee had to remove events, including the pet shows, dog high jump, sheep dog display, yarn spinning display and hobby horse races.
"Anything that created a crowd, we cancelled," Ms Grant said.
The exhibition of preserves, jewellery and various crafts in the pavilion has been moved online.
Items can be picked up on the Sunday.
Ms Grant said that points from some exhibition entries would go towards the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
The logistics of the event have also been modified to go ahead safely - the gate entry fee has been removed and tickets must be secured at the ticket office, attendees must wear masks at the ticket office and canteen and check-in with QR quotes upon entry.
It will be a cash-only event at the canteen and ticket office, with the exception of phone banking being allowed for larger group bookings.
Attendees must also practice social distancing and sanitise regularly.
Mr Grant wanted to thank the committee for their hard work in the lead-up to the event.
Tickets are $10 per adult, five dollars per child under 14 and family passes can be secured for $20 each.
Members can show their badges at the entry.
