Stores are part of St Vincent De Paul Society's mission to provide a hand up to people in need and give them the opportunity to take control of their destinies.
"By volunteering at Vinnies retail stores, we all process donations to go on the shop floor to sell and raise the revenue to help the community that are in need of assistance, whether it be food, clothing or a warm place to sleep," said cluster manager at Vinnies in Mittagong, Leonie Abela.
"...Every little bit of help gets the organisation closer to our goals within the community."
Highlanders have the flexibility to volunteer as much as they like throughout the week.
"You also get to work with and meet some fantastic people that become life long friends that also help each other in need," Ms Abela said.

As a part of the team, you will sort through donations, serve customers and learn retail skills.
Volunteers do need to be over the age of 16 and need to have a working with children's check and police background check.
Students can also volunteer through their schools.
You will be joining over 7000 volunteers across the state who bring joy to others in the stores.
Highlanders can contact Leonie on 4871 1922, email Retail.STH21265@vinnies.org.au, or enquire in a store if they are interested or have any questions.
