Put on your sneakers and grab your bicycle, for walks and rides this Sunday (December 5) around the region with the Southern Highlands Walking and Cycling Association (SHWACA).

Walkers and bike riders will be meeting at the Berrima Market Place Park's picnic shelter at 8.40am to depart at 9am and have a look for Neil, Catherine or the Flying Scotsman.
"Come and meet other walkers and cyclists, discover some beautiful places in the Southern Highlands while exercising outdoors," said SHWACA founding member Catherine Castelain.

Highlanders have the opportunity to walk a trail, and have an easy, "cruisey" or advanced bike ride around the region.
Cyclists wanting to take the easiest ride at an averahe of 15 to 20 kilometres an hour will be led by John Mallet for a journey around the Wingecarribee River in Berrima.
The cruisers will start their ride at 9am for an 18 to 20 kilometre per hour ride which will be led by Rita and Ulli. You can find the route here.

An advanced ride goes at a speed of over 22 kilometres an hour will depart at 9am and the route can be found here.
The group is due to return to the meeting point at 12pm for a picnic, so make sure you bring some food along.
SHWACA is a group of Highlanders who are dedicated to making roads and infrastructure safer and highlighting places to walk and cycle in the region.
All riders will be responsible for assessing their own personal risk while they are on the road.
