The results are in- three wineries from the Southern Highlands have taken out some top awards at last night's Australian Highlands Wine Show.

The annual competition assesses high altitude wines that have been produced with grapes grown 500 metres above sea level, and the winners were crowned on December 2 at the Centennial Vineyards.
A total of 126 wines across Australia were judged in early November by Toni Paterson MW (Masters of Wine), Rob Geddes MW, winemaker Aaron Mercer, wine writer Paul Diamond and sommelier Ashlyn Foster.
Cherry Tree Hill was awarded the Best Pinot Noir in Show with its 2019 Hayden Reserve.
"Pinot likes a cool climate and is definitely a strong variety for the Southern Highlands," said judge chair Toni Paterson MW.

"This a complex wine with layers of flavours and alluring aromatics. It is delicious and satisfying."
The Best Sparkling in Show was given to Centennial Vineyards for its NV Limited Releases Blanc de Blancs, and Tertini Wines was awarded Best Dessert Wine in Show with its Noble from 2019.
Of the 88 awards given out on the night, 41 of them went to winemakers in the Highlands.
Thirty-three wineries entered this year's competition, and wines from Mudgee, Canberra, Orange and Tumbarumba also received top accolades.
"[The] Quality overall was very high this year," Ms Paterson said.
"The trophy wines were an impressive set that were very exciting to see."
A Vermentino variety by First Ridge Wines from Mudgee was Awarded Best Other White Wine Varietal in Show.
Orange winery Angullong Wines won Best Other Red Wine Variety in Show with this years Fossil Hill Barbera, and the winery was awarded Best Sauvignon Blanc in Show for its 2021 vintage.
Cooks Lot from Orange won three trophies on the night.
The winery's 2021 Allotment 666 was awarded Best Pinot Gris in Show, its 2019 Lemon Villa won Best Cabernet Sauvignon in Show and the Lemon Villa Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot from 2019 was named the Best Red Wine Blend in Show.
The Mount Tumbarumba Vineyard gained gold with the Best Rosé in Show with its On The Fly Rosé from this year.
