Wingecarribee Shire Council's general manager, Ms Lisa Miscamble, unveiled the shire's promotional campaign for Christmas.
"The campaign artwork features the iconic waratah and encourages people to have a merry and magical Highlands Christmas," she said.
Starting next week three Community Christmas Trees will be rolled out across Bowral, Moss Vale and Mittagong.
"Christmas trees have long been one of the key symbols of the holiday season and we hope ours will help spread the festive cheer throughout the Shire and remind everyone of the true spirit of Christmas," said Ms Miscamble.
"It'll also make sure the reindeer can spot the Southern Highlands from high above on Christmas Eve regardless of the weather."
The first tree lighting ceremony will be held from 4.30 pm on Tuesday December 7 in Bowral's Corbett Plaza.
Celebrations will feature live entertainment and children's activities.
Similar events will be held outside Council's Moss Vale Civic Centre on Thursday December 9 and at the Mittagong Welcome Centre on Friday December 10.
"There's even a rumour that the jolly man himself might stop in to make a very special guest appearance," added Ms Miscamble.
"You won't want to miss it!"

The council is also proud to support the Southern Highlands Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Festival of Lights.
Throughout December, Christmas lighting displays and events will feature throughout the Shire. A series of twilight shopping evenings have also been arranged. For more information, visit www.festivaloflights.com.au.
In support of twilight trading initiatives, the council has endorsed a Shire-wide extension of trading hours and fast-tracked outdoor dining applications for cafes and restaurants.
"It has been a tough year for our residents and businesses so we're doing everything we can so that everyone can experience the joy of Christmas," said Ms Miscamble.
