Highlanders can mark their calendars and get ready for some Christmas cheer with the return of the Festival of Lights in the region.

The festival started last year as a way bring festivities and joy to the region.
Residents can admire the central districts of towns across the region in a COVID safe way from December 7 to 28.
The event is in collaboration with The Southern Highlands Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SHCCI), the Southern Highlands Foundation and the Wingecarribee Shire Council.
Local businesses will be encouraged to get creative with colourful displays, with the introduction of late night shopping and outdoor dining during the period.
"There is no denying the past few months have been a challenging, especially for local businesses," said festival organiser Michaela Bolzan.
"We felt it was important to put a smile on people's faces, and restore a sense of peace and hope."

There will also be a "mini Vivid" illuminating the Corbett gardens during the festival known as the Christmas Wonderland.
Highlanders are also encouraged to bring a picnic dinner along and enjoy entertainment in the gardens' Rotunda on December 17 and 18.
"Christmas Wonderland will feature stunning lighting installations that will be breath-takingly beautiful, giving cheer and delight to our local community and visitors alike", said Debra Blackah from the Southern Highlands Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
