To mark RUOK Day on September 9 students from McAuley Community School in South Australia wrote more than 300 personalised letters to retirement village residents experiencing COVID-19 restrictions across NSW.

Residents at Annesley Bowral were one of the lucky recipients. The much anticipated letters arrived last week.
Annesley resident Meredith McLachlan said she was "delighted" with her letter and "it was such a lovely kind thought".
"I was very impressed by the writing and drawing skills of the student and appreciated seeing his drawing of his dog Frankie," she said.
Bernard Turner said he was "very pleased they were thinking of us herein NSW all the way from South Australia".
Townsend Park village manager Pamela Pudney organised the initiative to let NSW residents know people were thinking of them during this tough time. She hoped that the kind, fun letters of primary school children would bring a spark of joy to residents.
Year Four student Isla penned a letter to Marie Bennett. She wrote:
"I like sport, music and art. My favourite food is chocolate and skittles. What is your favourite food and colour? You are sweet and special. Hope you get out of lockdown soon."
