There are many activities that you can mark in your calendar in the Highlands this week.
Aussie Bird Backyard Count
- October 18 - 24
Participants must count how many birds they see for 20 minutes a day, and log them on the Aussie Bird Count app. The app can be downloaded for Apple and Android phones. The data allows Birdlife Australia to track bird populations in different areas.
- Wednesday to Saturday, Southern Highlands Brewing and Taphouse
Get into the Oktoberfest spirit with some Steins of beer and a traditional German feast! The taphouse recommends you come on weekends where staff also get festive. Bookings are essential and can be made here.
Exhibition: Into the Light
- Every Friday and Saturday until December 6 by booking, Whitewall Art Projects
This exhibition showcases artists across the country and shines a spotlight on mental health. Ten per cent of sales will be donated to the chapters Lifeline Macarthur and Lifeline WA.
Visitors over the age of 16 must be fully vaccinated and show proof of vaccination when they arrive. Masks must also be worn, and checking in and proof of address must be completed before entering.
Have a picnic at the Southern Highlands Winery
- Every Saturday and Sunday, Southern Highlands Winery
You will need to check in upon entering the premises and show proof of double vaccinations.
- October 25, Bowral Bowling Club, 6pm
Live music will be up and running soon with Bowlo regulars Mahalia Barnes and The Soul Mates kicking the performances off. The capacity is reduced so tickets must be secured prior. Tickets can be purchased here.
