The incident began at 3:09 pm on Thursday October 13.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and expect delays.
One of two southbound lanes is also closed.
Emergency services and traffic crews are responding.
Motorists already heading north on the motorway can consider using Remembrance Driveway at Bargo and then Picton Road at Picton to return to the motorway.
Motorists are advised to allow approximately 15 minutes of additional travel time.
