Moss Vale Aquatic Centre facility manager Kate Makin wasn't even talking about the water, which looked clean and inviting on Monday morning as the centre re-opened after two months of restrictions.
She was referring to the feeling of welcoming regulars back to the facility again.
"Everyone's saying how beautiful the water looks," she said.
"A couple of people were even in tears to be able to come back.
"We've been flat out on the phone with Learn to Swim inquiries too."
The centre had been in limbo about reopening as recently as last week, having been told indoor pools may have to wait until December to open up again.
But Premier Dominic Perrottet's revisions to the roadmap brought clarity last Thursday, when the centre announced they would be opening today, with Learn to Swim lessons starting October 16.
The centre's Facebook page acknowledged that while some members would be "jumping up and down with excitement", others would be nervous, and sought to assure the latter that all precautions would be taken.
More details about the reopening can be found at mossvaleaquatic.com.au/health-update/
