The opening of Ngununggula
- October 12, 1 Art Gallery Lane, Bowral, 10am - 4pm
The Highlands' first regional gallery Ngununggula officially opens its doors this week and unveils a unique collection of artworks and installations. You can learn more about the exhibitions here. The gallery will be open 7 days a week from 10am to 4pm.
A Fire Inside
- October 14, Empire Cinema
A Fire Inside is a film that documents the toll the bushfires have had on villages across regional NSW. Balmoral RFS Captain Brendon O'Connor and Quest For Life CEO Petrea King are some of the people who tell their story, and show the impact it has had on the Highlands community.
The film does show firsthand accounts and might be triggering for some viewers. It is recommended that if you think you are going to be triggered by its content, you should either avoid watching the film or watch it with someone.

New movies at Empire Cinema
- From October 14, Empire Cinema
Empire Cinema has films for moviegoers of all ages this week. Marvel's awaited blockbuster Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Space Jam: A New Legacy, Jungle Cruise and Paw Petrol: The Movie are all showing from this Thursday.

Crochet Clinics with Castle Handmade

Grab your crochet hooks for a crafty morning with Castle Handmade. Bring along a project you are working on, or contact Liz and she can help you pick a pattern. Classes are $50 and run every Wednesday and Thursday this month. You can book here.
Railway Street Farmers Market
- October 15, Corners of Railway Street and Spring Street, Moss Vale, 3pm - 6pm
Grab some seasonal produce harvested by local growers this week. Highlanders also have the opportunity to meet the growers at the market.
The re-opening of the SHAC
- October 16, The SHAC, 4pm and 5pm
The SHAC will be opening its doors this Saturday, where attendees can admire three unique exhibitions.
Julianne Ross Allcorn's showcase Red Hot boxes of flora, detailed bush essence, Burnt Orange by Alexandra Taylor and Terra Tutti by Sharon Collyer will be on display.
Highlanders must be double vaccinated, wear a mask inside and use the QR codes when they arrive. You can book for the 4pm or 5pm session here.
