Mittagong resident Sara Berki has worked with the likes of Shane Nicholson and the bass guitarist for Troy Cassar-Daley's band to come up with a five track EP called Heartline.
The 24-year-old said working with those stars was a mind-blowing experience.
"Shane's the guitarist on the tracks as well as the backup vocalist," Berki said.
"It's so cool that I had the chance to work with him.
"As soon as I got to the studio, I just couldn't believe my eyes as I wasn't told he was going to help me."
Berki described her style of music as country and said her lyrics were based on a couple of different perspectives.
"I think my style of writing comes from both personal experiences and an Americanized perspective," she said.
"For example, I can pretend I grew up in America and went to baseball games or that someone I once loved came and picked me up in an old car."
Berki has always loved music, but it was during primary school where she first got hold of an instrument.
"My primary school teacher said if I had an instrument or a guitar, I could have some lessons in between recess and lunch," she said.
"I begged my parents, absolutely begged them for my own guitar and luckily, my birthday was coming up.
"They got me a little nylon string guitar of low quality and they had it restrung.
"It was my my teacher who taught me how to play."
At the moment, Berki performs at places like the Tamworth Country Music Festival, but at the end of the day, she just wants to play and sing for people.
