The dedicated volunteers at the gardens are excited about the new addition of the small tabletop truck which they note "will help so much with the heavy lifting around the garden."
The purchase of the truck has been made possible through a recent grant from the Foundation for Rural Regional Renewal. The new Hilux is complete with the SHBG logo on it.

SHBG CEO and chair Charlotte Webb said she was so delighted with the purchase and she felt that "SHBG has come of age."
"It brings a feeling of being a real grown up," Mrs Webb said.
"Having its own small truck will mean the garden is now independent and will not have to rely on the generosity of the many friends of the gardens who have loaned their private vehicle over the years so the day-to-day work in the garden could continue."
The new-found independence brought about by the truck allows the garden volunteers to move mulch around to where it is needed, collect loads of potting soil and transport tents and other equipment to off-site locations when events are held.
"I would like to thank FRRR for funding this vehicle and also those supporters who have allowed us to use their vehicle over the past years", Mrs Webb said.
The Southern Highlands Botanic Gardens is located on the corner of Kangaloon and Old South Roads. The garden is open seven days from 9am to 5pm. The nursery located within the grounds is open on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday each week, weather permitting.
No dogs are allowed as the gardens' are a migratory bird habitat.
