In total police arrested more than 150 people and issued almost 600 Penalty Infringement Notices (PINs) across NSW on August 31.

In the Southern Highlands, two people were arrested and six people received PINS.

Southern Highlands police station officer-in-charge Inspector Jason Horne said eight people were involved in "legal process" as a result of a protest outside the Moss Vale Council Chambers.

The inspector said legal process ranged from a fine to a court appearance.

A 62-year-old woman was charged with unlawfully participating in an outdoor gathering in a stay at home area, and resist officer in the execution of duty. She will appear at Moss Vale Local Court on September 22.

In addition, a 59-year-old man was charged with resisting an officer in the execution of duty and will appear at Moss Vale Court on October 5.

According to eye witnesses approximately 30 people attended the Moss Vale protest, most were not wearing masks.

The illegal protest was part of a nationwide initiative with the below flyer distributed online.

The flyer states "political incompetence and corruption is killing our country" and encourages people to "make your voice heard" and "stand in solidarity with millions who have lost their right to work, liberty and survival".
