The van, known as Nellie Melba, is a cute but practical take on a Kombi Chassis, that Highlanders can create memories in with a staycation.
Business owners Tim Pollard and Jane Quinn joined forces and created Wildlings Co which launched today (September 1).
"We came together and it complemented our businesses," she said.
Mr Pollard brought his obsession with Kombis to Kombi Capers Coffee, and Ms Quinn has loved creating pop-up camp adventures with Me Jane Camp Out.
The pair also have the limoncello-coloured van known as Daisy for Canberrans to enjoy.
They also plan to bring retro RVs to Sydney and Brisbane.
Ms Quinn said Nellie Melba has already attracted attention when she has driven it in the Highlands.
"It was as simple as bringing smiles to people's faces, and we would love to give that opportunity to others," Ms Quinn said.
"It was like a ray of sunshine that has cruised around the streets.
"Within a space of 30 minutes, people came up to me and said they owned a Kombi, and told me how much they loved it."
"People have also waved, and I beeped the horn."
Restrictions have meant Retro RV Southern Highlands had limits on how they could launch, but Ms Quinn said they created a solution.
"We decided to provide some stays to school students," she said.
"Kids have had their own challenges with homeschooling, and it would be the opportunity for them to own the space and study.
"It would make them feel like they went on an adventure, and could use it as a break."
The van has been delivered to households for youngsters to use.
HSC student Claudia Thompson was one of the lucky students who enjoyed a staycation in Nellie Melba with her sister Sophia.
"It felt like a holiday in our backyard and beautiful with the sunset," she said.
"I have wanted a Kombi Van for ages, so I was thrilled to have one in my own space."
The sisters had the van on August 28 and 29, and even set up a fire next to it.
They also shared the space while they studied.
"It was a break from the typical Zoom meetings for school, and made me feel like I could study anywhere," the Year 12 student continued.
"My peers and I have been very unmotivated, so the RV refreshed and motivated me to keep pushing.
"It made me feel like better days would be coming and Covid could not bring me down."
Wildlings Co has also provided a couple of other families with Kombi adventures this week.
