Covid QR code check-ins
I'm a little concerned at the moment with regards to the checking of QR code registration as we enter a shopping centre.

I have ben shopping in Aldi Mittagong and so far twice, in the same number of days this week, I checked in and noted others entering without even looking at a phone or enquiring about a record book. I tried to remind a lady in one case that she was required to check in, she rebutted my request/reminder suggesting that I was not to check up on her.
I explained that it was for the safety of all, but she continued to ignore me and carried on.
I mentioned it to the checkout staff were I was told that they ask people to check in but of course they are not permitted to force someone to do so and, they themselves are concerned that they may be exposed daily as they themselves must check in.
I gather this is happening every day. I tried to contact Aldi but unfortunately the 1300 number only directs you to a website where there is no means to register a complaint. Is Aldi exempt form using marshals as used at Bunnings? We have been lucky so far but at this rate not for long.

Let Wingecarribee vote
An open letter to Shelley Hancock, Minister for Local Government:
I am a ratepayer in the Wingecarribee Shire and I am eager to elect my representatives in the Wingecarribee Shire Council on December 4, 2021.
I am concerned that any delay to the election date is a denial of Wingecarribee Shire's ratepayers democratic right to vote.
A postponement of the election is not an acceptable outcome for the Wingecarribee Shire given the disruption over the past six months with the suspension of the elected councillors and the installation of an interim administrator who has presided over the removal of many, very experienced, senior executive staff and instigated several reports.
These reports do not demand a delay to the election on December 4. The only valid reason for further inquiry into the Wingecarribee Shire Council would be allegations of corruption, of which there are none.
It is clear that any deferral of the election will prevent the right of the ratepayers of the Wingecarribee Shire to have their elected representatives act for them. Only a new crop of councillors will engender the trust necessary in the Wingecarribee Shire Council to perform its essential role in our community.
In short, I ask that you let Wingecarribee vote on December 4, 2021.

Roll up your sleeves for cancer patients
The evidence is clear - optimal vaccine coverage is key to controlling COVID-19 in NSW.
Evidence is also strengthening that COVID-19 poses a threat to cancer outcomes.
Because of this, Cancer Council NSW is calling on the community to roll up its sleeves and help achieve optimal COVID-19 vaccine coverage, to help reduce the risks of long-term COVID-19 impacts on cancer outcomes.
During the 2020 lockdown, we saw disruptions to cancer screening services and program participation which is aimed at detecting cancer earlier. We know COVID-19 is especially harmful if contracted by individuals undergoing cancer treatment.
While there is a lot of confusion and misinformation out there, the evidence is clear that vaccines work and that accelerating the control of COVID-19 will support our focus on controlling cancer, which remains the leading cause of premature death in the state.
People living with cancer should discuss their COVID-19 vaccine requirements with their doctor.
Now is an ideal time for someone who is due for their screening to complete the test. The bowel cancer screening test is done at home, with the sample sent in the mail.
We know that this is an incredibly stressful time for many people, particularly those impacted by cancer. If you are affected by cancer, we're here to help. Call Cancer Council's 13 11 20 Information and Support line or visit cancercouncil.com.au.
Stay safe and well.
