Mittagong Preschool director Pauline Iacono said "hosting our own mini-Olympics is a wonderful way for the children to learn and have fun all while emulating their heroes."
"We have held the torch relay, lit the Olympic cauldron and the children have taken turns to represent the diverse range of countries which make up our preschool community," Pauline said.
"Our opening ceremony has included the singing of the Japanese and Australian National Anthems, flag raising and an acknowledgement of country."

Pauline said the children had been keen to take part in events including the marathon, rowing, equestrian and Australian Indigenous games.
"Mittagong preschool has a proud tradition in celebrating the Olympics and Commonwealth Games that dates back to 2004," she said.
"Everyone has really got into the Olympic spirit despite the no crowds (no parents) policy that preschool has had to adopt due to COVID-19 regulations.
"A key feature of the games was the medal ceremony which took place in front of the preschool's new mural which has been painted by preschool parent and artist Sarah Hillsley.
"A labour of love over the last 18 months the mural, which depicts Lake Alexandra and its wildlife, will play a key role as a backdrop to our 45-year celebrations this year and into the future."
