Give them a call

Dial their numbers and check in today. Whether it is just a conversation, or seeing them over a video call, everyone's day will be better. This is also essential if your friends live in areas that are under strict lockdown.

Send a letter or make a card

While your message does not get to them immediately, it is always nice to receive something in the mail. The best part is they can keep it as a memento, and pull it out whenever they want to. Your strength and words are always with them that way.

Set a date to catch up again

The unfortunate thing with restrictions is that we do not know when they are going to be lifted. Use today as an opportunity to set aside a date to touch base whether it be over the phone, or in person. It gives everyone something to look forward to.

Drop something at their door

Perhaps you're a baking and cooking aficionado, or have many plants in the garden. Spread the love and show your friends you're thinking of them by leaving something at their door.

You can leave it, and wave at the bottom of the driveway or across the road, or even surprise them! Just make sure if you're bringing food, that you tell them, because you do not want them to compete with the birds.

Can't see your friends right now, or know that they're struggling? Show them you care and have something delivered to them instead.

Go for a walk

If you can, it gives you the opportunity to have a change in scenery, even get the pooch out and about too! It also gives you the chance to connect with your friends face to face, but must be done safely.

Have similar taste in movies, books or TV shows? Pick something everyone can do in their own time at home, and schedule a time to have a call, or meet if you can to have a chat about it.

The day can also be an opportunity to foster new friendships in your community. If you see someone by themselves, give them a wave and strike up a conversation. Maybe you can join a new group too, you never know who you will meet!
