About 6.45pm on Friday July 23, 2021, a 30-year-old woman was driving along Arthur Street, Moss Vale, when she was forced to stop near the intersection of Chapman Street, as a utility was parked in the middle of the road, blocking traffic.
A person - not known to her - allegedly approached her car and opened the door, striking the woman several times while attempting to grab her.
The woman was able to push the person away after a short struggle and shut the door before driving away.
Officers attached to The Hume Police District have since commenced an investigation.
The vehicle is described as an older model white single cab ute with aluminium tray.
The person is described as wearing a blue and white beanie and long pants with hi-vis stripes.
As inquiries continue, police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to call Southern Highlands Police on 4868 1222 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
