The Bowral District Art Society's Drawing Prize is due to be announced at the Bowral Art Gallery.
Gallery consultant Ross Stone said over 120 entries came not only from the Highlands, but from "far and wide."
"We were pleased with the number of entries," he said.
"It would be an impressive exhibition."

Attendees have the opportunity to marvel at a variety of drawings which showcase graphite, pencil, ink, pastels, charcoal and mixed media.
"It has been whole mix of drawings, and that's what has made it interesting," Mr Stone added.
"Drawing is just another form of creative expression."
"Anyone could take anything from it, that is the beauty of art."
Drawings were due to be judged by Goulburn Regional Art Gallery director and art curator Jane Cush this afternoon.
Ms Cush and the committee then decided which drawings would be showcased in the gallery.
One work would be rewarded $3500 for first prize and another would receive $500 as a runner up prize.
The showcase followed the array of landscapes displayed for the Wingecarribee Council Landscape Prize, and the annual Bowral Sculpture Prize.
Mr Stone also commended the "high standard" of artworks the BDAS has obtained from the artists.
The winners are due to be announced on Saturday at 2:00pm in the outdoor sculpture garden.
The exhibition runs until August 1, and is sponsored by Waterbrook.
Guests must wear masks and maintain social distancing inside the gallery, and sign in using the QR codes at the door.
The gallery is open from 10:00am to 4:00pm daily.
