Winter Warmers in the Gardens: Moss Vale Evening CWA
- Daily until mid August, Leighton Park
As the days are getting colder, everyone pulls out their winter warmers, and that includes the trees along Argyle Street! The Moss Vale Evening CWA have wrapped the trees in explosions of colour to bring smiles to residents, after their yarn bombing was a success last year.
Come and see endless pom-poms dotted through the trees, colourful wraps made of recycled materials, and spot the Aussie creatures scattered through the wraps.
Waterbrook Drawing Prize
- Daily until August 1, Bowral Art Gallery, 10:00am - 4:00pm
An exhibition full of drawings of different sizes, mediums and subject matters from artists across NSW is open for all Highlanders to see.
Attendees have the opportunity to marvel at a variety of drawings which showcase graphite, pencil, ink, pastels, charcoal and mixed media.
Artworks displayed are also be available to purchase.
Guests must wear masks and maintain social distancing inside the gallery, and sign in using the QR codes at the door.

Exhibition: Generation
- July 29 - 31, CTC Robertson, Thursday - Friday 10:00am - 4:00pm and Saturday 10:00am - 1:00pm
The message of a family bond, and a connection to art shines through an exhibition honouring the late artist Vivienne Helliar.
The Berrima-based resident was due to present her artwork alongside other artists before her unexpected passing in May.
Her daughter Jess Whyte was determined to tell her story through showcasing her artworks alongside work from her grandson Thomas Walters-Whyte, and friend Catriona Anderson.
The exhibition called Generation features 15 of Vivienne's artworks, alongside 15 digitally enhanced photos from her grandson, and three artworks form Ms Anderson.
The Secret World of Tallulah McCord
- Friday to Monday until August 16, Mental Bowral (11 Station Street, Mittagong), 10:00am - 5:00pm
Come and see local artist Tallulah McCord's collection of 50 digital drawings and animations at the Mental Bowral.
It is the inaugural exhibition in the new FUNDAMENTAL gallery which re-opened its doors to the public on Saturday in Mittagong.
Movie release: Jungle Cruise
- July 29, Empire Cinema
Join Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt in an adventure through the jungle filled with dangerous creatures and supernatural elements.
Masks must be worn inside the theatre, and movie goers are encouraged to book their tickets online.
Patrons can also use their Discover vouchers until August 31.
Christmas in July at the Robertson Hotel
- July 30 and 31
Get festive by the fire with a glass of mulled wine and lucky door prizes.
You can dig into a traditional feast of sticky date pudding, seasonal vegetables and Christmas ham.
Guests have the option to come for lunch or dinner. Attendees for lunch must arrive at 12:00pm for 12:30pm, and dinner guests are advised to arrive at 6:00pm for 6:30pm. Lunchtime costs $55 per adult and $35 per child under 12. Dinner is $79 per adult and $35 per child under 12.
Bookings are essential.
Christmas in July: Crazy Sweater Night
- July 31, 6:00pm, Robertson Public House
End Christmas in July with a bang with your ugly sweater (the website's words, not mine), and your dancing shoes for some grooving in Robertson. Break it down to the beats of DJ Zanin from 7:00pm, and enjoy a wide range of prizes in a raffle including a family pass to Jamberoo Action Park. All funds raised from the night will go towards Illawarra Convoy.
It is advised that people call 4885 1202 to secure a spot for dinner due to current and pending restrictions.
Wednesdays with Writers
- August 25, The Robertson Hotel, 11:00am - 2:30pm
The Book Nook 2577 will be hosting a collection of talks with local authors which kick off next month.
Robertson local Air Commodore John Oddie will be the first author to start the series, and will discuss his memoir Flight Command, which was released in 2014.
The book looks back on his childhood in rural Victoria, and follows his journey all the way to the rank of Air Commodore in the RAAF.
Highlanders can book their tickets online before they all sell out! Tickets are also refundable if the date changes due to restrictions.
