Police have charged a minimum-security inmate who escaped from a correctional facility at Goulburn yesterday.

The 29-year-old man, who escaped from the facility about 1.30pm (Thursday, July 15), was arrested by officers from The Hume Police District while waiting for a train at Goulburn Railway Station.
He was taken to Goulburn Police Station where he was charged with three offences, including inmate escape from lawful custody, attempt to unlawfully take motor vehicle with person in it and assault with intent to take/drive motor vehicle.
The man was refused bail and will appear before Goulburn Local Court later today (July 16).
