Police are focused on doing everything they can to ensure regional NSW remains safe from the virus.
Key to the success in regional NSW will be community cooperation with the public health orders, and particularly, the willingness of locals to call out those who are still doing the wrong thing.
As Commissioner Fuller said on Monday (July 12), there were more than 3000 COVID-19 related calls to Crimestoppers over the weekend across the state.
Superintendent Paul Condon, The Hume Police District, said police were pleased with the general level of compliance with the health orders so far.
"It has been great to see the vast majority of the community doing the right thing - wearing a mask in indoor areas, checking in everywhere they go - these small actions can save lives," Superintendent Condon said.
"However, we have been disappointed some community members still think the rules don't apply to them.
"A number of Penalty Infringement Notices have been issued across The Hume Police District over the past week.
"So - if you're not doing the right thing, prepare to be fined."
