Owner of Thread Botanica, Sally, grew up in the Southern Highlands and has fond memories of visiting Berrima and exploring the streets and finding treasures.
"As a local business owner, I am thrilled to now be part of the Berrima community. There is such respect for the heritage of the town. I have met many friendly locals and business owners within the small village," Sally said.
"It was exciting to hear of Berrima's Best Regional Town award and it is such a credit to the community. There is a lovely collection of retail stores, excellent restaurants and cafes and picturesque surrounds, making Berrima a wonderful place to visit."
Sally learnt to sew at an early age and quickly became addicted to fabrics and the art of making, with many finished and unfinished projects to follow and an ever-growing fabric stash.
"I worked as a professional long-arm quilter and from there Thread Botanica began, initially as an online patchwork store with beautiful modern fabric collections."
With an increasing online landscape and a reduction in physical stores, Thread Botanica is committed to bringing the latest beautiful fabric collections and designs to the Southern Highlands. Designers include Anna Maria, Kaffe Fassett, Tula Pink, Tilda, Makower UK and Andover. The store also offers quilting supplies, haberdashery and threads, ByAnnie bag-making supplies and a wide range of the latest patterns and books.
