The announcement follows the recent news that inaugural captain Mark Milligan is hanging up his playing boots to join the club's coaching ranks.

The Bulls' debut A-League season ended one game shy of the grand final, going down 2-0 to the highly-favoured Melbourne City club.

Now their season is over, Ivan Franjic, Loic Puyo, Walter Scott, Yianni Nicolaou, Milislav Popovic and Kyle Cimenti will be elsewhere.

Macarthur FC chairman Gino Marra thanked the players for their hard work in the Bulls' colours.

"On behalf of the club, I would like to thank the six players for all their efforts this season, on and off the pitch," he said. "Together, we have built a solid foundation for the club to grow. We wish them every success in their future endeavours."

Franjic and Popovic were among the first 10 players to join the Bulls squad.

Franjic, a former Socceroo, moved to Gregory Hills when he joined the club. He played 19 games for Macarthur FC.

Popovic, from Liverpool, was the first south-west Sydney player to sign up with the Bulls and relished in the opportunity to play close to home. He took to the field on five occasions in the 2020/21 season.

Young Cimenti only got one playing cap this season, recording just the one pass in his season statistics, while Bowral's Scott also has just one A-League match to his name.

Nicolaou did not make his A-League debut with the Bulls.

Frenchman Puyo was the most prolific of the departing players, taking to the field on 21 occasions in the Bulls' inaugural A-League season.

The midfielder netted two goals for the club in his more than 1100 minutes on field.

He became the second international signing for Macarthur FC, behind the exciting Englishman Matt Derbyshire.

Coach Ante Milicic said the club was disappointed to finish their season before making a grand final - which was eventually won by Melbourne City - but was looking forward to having Milligan alongside him with the coaching staff in the 2021/22 season.
