The Year 10 Moss Vale High School student discovered she was selected earlier this month.
"I am really excited to play," she said.
"As I am getting older, there are more opportunities with higher teams."
The team is due to compete in a tri-series against Catholic and Independent Schools, in Newcastle in early August.
The tri-series enables students to compete after the cancellation of a national competition due to the pandemic.
"I am devastated that there are no nationals this year, but I am excited to play," Miss Nash said.

She also played with Moss Vale High School students Holly and Georgie Hurford, in the NSW Combined High Schools Sports Association girl's hockey championship last month in Lismore.
Their team placed fourth in the overall championship, winning three of the four games.
Miss Nash also competed for the under 18 Illawarra South Coast hockey team in division one last month, in the NSW State Hockey Championships.
Their team placed second during the competition in Lismore.
She was then selected to be part of the Athlete Acceleration Program, which is aimed at 16 to 18-year-old athletes to further develop their skills.
Miss Nash's placement in the program means she has the chance to qualify for the under 18's NSW hockey team next year, and the opportunity to attend training camps throughout the year to strengthen her skills.
Miss Nash also plays for the first grade Wests Illawarra women's team in Wollongong, and UNSW's first grade team in Sydney on the weekends.
