Bowral Uniting Church received a grant from the Veolia Mulwaree Trust for the defibrillator, and 13 members of the church have now recieved training in first aid.
"The church centre is widely used, not only for church activities, but by many different community groups," said says mission development worker Pastor Lucy Earl.
"Alongside the defibrillator, the first aid course was held so that the church community can continue to care for people with confidence."
It has been a busy start to the year at Bowral Uniting Church. With Covid restrictions easing, their weekly free community lunch 'Food and Fellowship' was able to return to an eat-in meal, and the Community Bathroom and Laundry Facility is also now open to the community.
"We now have a number of new people trained in first aid and have a new First Aid Officer, Lois Macadam. It is great to now also have the provision of the defibrillator through the Veolia Mulwaree Trust," said Mrs Earl.
"We are very grateful for the ongoing support of our community."
