Parsons was recently named in Illawarra's squad for the men's NSW Country Rugby Championship to take place in Tamworth on June 12-14.
Four representative sides will fight it out for the Caldwell Cup with Illawarra facing Central West, Central Coast and Far North Coast.
The Illawarriors finished as runners-up in 2019, going down to Central West 45-21 in the final.
The flanker said he was proud to fly the flag for the club while aiming for higher honours.
"It's a good reward for your form I guess, your hard work hasn't gone unnoticed," Parsons told the Southern Highland News.
"It would be great to win it and it would be great to put my hand up for Country selection as well.
"It's nice to represent the club as well, I've been involved since I was a junior so it's nice to represent Bowral like that."
Parsons was handed the captaincy at the start of what has been a difficult season for Bowral.
The Blacks sit in sixth position on the ladder and have struggled to string victories together.
"It's been good, it's been challenging," Parsons explained.
"A few more roles I'm not used to this year but it's a nice challenge I've been trying to embrace.
"It's been very disrupted. When we put our best team on the park we're very competitive but that's our real problem this year. Week to week, whether it's injuries or people away we just haven't been able to put these performances together.
"I don't think we've had one team that's been the same week to week, it's always chopping and changing. There's not much consistency but once we get everyone out there it seems to click for us."
Illawarriors squad: Terry Fanolua, Atelemo Katoa, Josese Sadrata, Sam Sadrata, Hector Tapueluelu, Teava Terangi and Leti David Tupai (Campbelltown), Brayden Grehan, Sam Hackett, Wayne Ngatai, Casey Rameka and Paul Tuala (University), Ian Leota, Misieli Sinoti, Aisake Tuevu and Mawutu Wuatai (Tech Waratahs), Leighton Cowley, Tonga Junior-Tongo and Folau Lavemai (Kiama), Jack Parsons (Bowral), William Ridley (Shoalhaven), Jesse Leng (Avondale) and Dane Nethery (Vikings).
