The closure affects all council-managed sports fields across the Shire for Saturday only and is effective immediately.
The temporary closure does not affect the Welby Hockey Centre or Eridge Park Netball court facilities which remain open with a caution.
A further assessment will be undertaken late Friday May 7 to reassess conditions for possible recommencement of Sunday play.

Council is also responding to the impact the heavy rain has had on roads and drainage infrastructure by re-diverting all operational crews to assist with potential drainage and stormwater issues.
Crews will remain on stand-by over the weekend to monitor local conditions and respond to incoming calls of assistance.
Visit Current Works & Closures at www.wsc.nsw.gov.au for the latest road closures and diversions.
Residents can report any stormwater-related issues to council's customer service team by phoning 4868 0888 (24 hours), email at mail@wsc.nsw.gov.au or online at www.wsc.nsw.gov.au.
Council reminds residents and motorists to never drive, cycle, walk or play in floodwaters.
