Wingecarribee Shire Council is set to celebrate Earth Hour with a special community event at the Southern Highlands Botanic Gardens this Saturday March 27.

"Artists have long been using recycled objects to turn everyday trash into creative treasures," she said.
The event features the Sculpture in the Gardens exhibition and competition and showcases the work of local artists who use recycled materials in their artistic process."
Other family friendly activities at the COVID Safe event include pre-booked children's art workshops and performances by roving environmental educators, Alesha and Stefan Elbourne.
Ms Kemp said the evening would feature live music and light refreshments could be purchased at the venue.
"So make sure to bring along your picnic hamper, rug or comfy chair," she said.
Gates open at 5pm with 'lights out' for Earth Hour at the family-friendly time of 7.30pm.
The event will conclude at 9pm.
Earth Hour is the world's largest grassroots environmental movement where landmarks and communities switch off their lights to show their support for a brighter future for the planet.
Residents unable to attend the event in the Botanic Gardens can still show their support for the global cause by switching off their lights between 8.30pm and 9.30pm on Saturday March 27.
Entry to Sculpture in the Gardens is free however, visitors must register online prior to attending. For more information visit shbg.com.au.
The Southern Highlands Botanic Gardens is located on the corner of Kangaloon and Old South Roads, Bowral.
The event is supported by Resource Recovery Australia's Reviva Store in Moss Vale who helped artists source materials for the exhibition and competition.
