Landholders and primary producers across NSW have been urged by the NSW Department of Primary Industries to complete a survey to help with their evaluation of the NSW Government's recent drought relief measures.

DPI group director agricultural resources, Christine Tumney, said that most landholders were considered eligible to complete the survey, as it includes any landholders who had Local Land Services rates waived, as well as those who received some of the other drought assistance measures available through the Rural Assistance Authority and other measures delivered by other Government agencies and organisations.
"If you were eligible for NSW Government Drought support between July 2018 and July 2021, we ask you to complete the survey before it closes on March 10," she said.
"We want to hear from farmers directly about what the most effective measures were that helped them manage their businesses in the face of record-breaking drought, as well as where we can improve."
Ms Tumney said the drought assistance evaluation project will help the government improve service delivery and planning for future droughts.
"There is no avoiding the fact that droughts are part of the Australian landscape, so we want to understand how we can best prepare and support our rural communities through these challenging times," she added.
"The feedback we get from farmers and community members via the survey will be critical to ensure people are getting the very best service possible from government, and that government investment is delivering value for money."
Since June 2018 the NSW Government has provided more than $1 billion for drought support measures to primary producers and rural communities.
