In the first pennant game for the season, Bowral manager Mark Wilson and coach Lew Wilson have stated the win by Bowral against Wallacia was against all the odds, especially after the disruption of playing bowls at home owing to ground problems.
At Wallacia on Saturday, February 27, Bowral had a ground breaking afternoon when they defeated the home side 61 shots to 44 shots.
The team won two rinks and Wallacia won one rink.
Bowral won 38 ends, Wallacia won 25 ends.
Bowral 9 points, Wallacia 1 point.
Carl Spilker, Glynn Phillips, Paul Leverett and Josh Woodcock defeated Wallacia 22-14.
Wallacia won the first two ends to go to a 4-0 lead.
Through great team work Bowral hit back and after 11 ends had taken a 14-6 lead.
Bowral dominated the second half of the match to come away with a eight shot win.
Ashley Lewis, Russell Knight, Dugald Braithwaite and Michael Spong defeated Wallacia 22-12.
This was a very tight first half Wallacia had a 5-2 lead after six ends and it was not until the 11th end that Bowral hit the lead 11-8.
It was a big turnaround in the second half of the match which Bowral held the upper hand and ran out comfortably ten shot winners.
Stephen Della, Nathan Boyers, Kevin Stafford and Michael Armstrong lost to Wallacia 18-17.
Wallacia produced a near faultless performance in the first five ends to have a 7-1 lead.
In a huge next few ends Bowral attacked more and after 11 ends had a 11-9 lead.
Both teams put in a great challenge and scores locked at 17-17 with one end to play it was Wallacia who got the break on the last end and scored one shot to win the game.
