Until recently, supporters of the Friends of the Wingecarribee Animal Shelter (FOWAS) had a few places they could drop in food and other goods, but none were in the north of the region.

Now, a new donation station has been established for FOWAS at the Mittagong Vet Hospital.
"This is a lifesaver for us as we had nothing in the northern villages," said Ms Barnes.
"By the community donating, it helps us by supplementing what we're able to buy.
"And people are very generous."
The FOWAS donation station at Mittagong will mean that donations can be conveniently dropped off by anyone from Mittagong and the northern villages of the Southern Highlands.
With a late kitten season underway, Ms Barnes said quality kitten and puppy wet food was needed, as well as dog kibble and treats, and toys for both cats and dogs.
"At the moment we're seeing quite strong demand - anything that comes in goes out," she said.
"Even the mature ones are finding homes."
Other drop off stations in the highlands are located at:
- Wingecarribee Animal Shelter, Berrima Road, Moss Vale
- Ashcroft's IGA Moss Vale
- Coles Moss Vale
- Coles and Woolworths Bowral
- Jacksonwall Real Estate, 54 Station Street, Bowral
The new northern donation station is located inside Mittagong Vet Hospital's waiting room, 109 Main Street, during business hours.
FOWAS also accept cash donations to help them continue their work, (a donation coin tin is also available at the hospital). Most of all, FOWAS would love to see the animals in their care adopted - visit fowas.org.au.
